Spousal Maintenance

Where parties have separated it is possible for one party to seek ongoing financial support from the other.

This is referred to as "Spousal Maintenance" and can comprise a periodic cash payment or the payment of expenses by a party with the capacity to make the payment to the other party who is in need of support.

This is distinct from, but related to, property settlement.
